Christmas Presents

Christmas dinner at Illawong: Awaiting the opening of Christmas presents

"Ah, hurry up! We want to open our presents!" At least that what the boys were thinking; from left: Cooper, Tynan, Jake and Flynn.

Christmas dinner at Illawong: The opening begins

As luck would have it, Cooper's was first off the mark.

Christmas dinner at Illawong: Cooper's radio controlled car is almost as big as he is

Cooper's radio controlled truck (he is currently fascinated by trucks, though usually the bigger kind, especially garbage trucks) is almost as big as he is.

Christmas dinner at Illawong: Kelly explaining action of water pistol to Cooper

And Kelly shows Cooper the finer points of his very large water pistol! You could almost put out a fire with that!

Christmas dinner at Illawong: Cooper's favourite present - a front end loader

And Cooper also has a front end loader/backhoe to add to his armory of sand pit toys.

Christmas dinner at Illawong: Tynan practising his musician look with his Christmas present guitar

And Tynan's gift (from Peter) is a child sized, but otherwise standard, guitar; Jake has one just like this too. And Tynan is learning to play the trumpet at school. Learning the guitar is easier on everybody's ears!

Christmas dinner at Illawong: Cooper's guitar harness is all tangled

And not to be left out, Cooper has a Wiggles guitar. It appears to be stringless, but it does make noise. Just not guitar noise. And it seems the strap is somewhat tangled too.

Christmas dinner at Illawong: Kelly taking up Cooper's guitar

Kelly trying her hand at Cooper's guitar. It suits you, Kell. Though the colour doesn't go with the rest of your outfit!

Christmas dinner at Illawong: Keiran, Flynn, Tynan and Jake sorting out battleship game

Jake received a naval battle game, and here Keiran with Flynn are playing Jake and Tynan. But they are also trying to figure out how it works, as this was the first time any of them had played the electronic version.

Christmas dinner at Illawong: Cameron replaces Tynan at naval battle

After the Wallaces departed, without the battle being won, Cameron stepped in for Tynan. Then some cheating took place in order to finish the game.

And that pretty much sums up the first Christmas dinner of 2008. It was a wonderfully relaxing time to see all the family, and quite some time since we had all been together. A nice way to start the festive season.
