August 30th was Kelly's birthday, so the family made the trek to Kurnell to celebrate. The plan was to have a picnic in the reserve near Captain Cook's landing place in 1770.
The birthday girl and daughter Lily who is in Yvonne's arms.
Miss Lily is beginning to want something to drink.
Ah, family. Yvonne holding Lily and her cousin Jake reading a birthday card.
Ah, that's better - food!
Jake is kicking the ball, although his aim looks a bit off, while Flynn has one and Cooper is closely watching Jake. Cooper has a most intense stare while watching somebody do something new.
We then picked up the picnic belongings and walked down to the Botany Bay National Park for lunch. After the light lunch, it was time to go exploring. Here Peter and Cooper are out on the rocks - fortunately it was low tide. The oil refinery wharf is in the background.
An interesting rock we came across along the way.
Flynn (left) and Cooper squashing sponges on the rocks, to force the water out.
It's not what it looks like! Then it was time to return to Kelly and Glenn's home for the famous birthday cake and signing.
Peter trying to light the candles on the cake. It was rather windy, and getting the candles to light was not working too well. And Copper's "helping" was not exactly beneficial.
Cooper's wondering where the cake has gone!
Ah, there's the cake - candles lit, though some of them look a bit marginal.
A bit of re-lighting is required.
After the mandatory "Happy Birthday" song, Cooper's up to blow out the candles. Still a bit of hit and miss at this stage.
Cooper's always in for more cake.
As should be obvious here - something of a grub! But then, I'm sure we were all like that when 2 years old.
Jake is hitching a ride from Cooper! Although I suspect it was more a case of Jake pushing Cooper then hopping on the back for the photo.
Trapper watching over the proceedings.
