Having made it to the landing, check to see if Garfield is outside. It turns out he's not, so Cooper is ready to climb the next set of stairs - even with those huge slippers!
Ah, there's Garfield - under the bed! And Garfield was cornered, not a situation he especially likes, although he could get further under the bed than Cooper can reach, so, for now at least, Garfield was safe.
