So we had a pleasant and filling dinner, toasting Michelle on another milestone in life. And, of course, these milestones are always celebrated with a cake!
Jake helping Yvonne carry in the cake to the assemebled masses.
We're ready for the big event - singing "Happy Birthday", complete with pointing, and then the piece de resistance...
Blowing out the candles - Jake goes first, and here two of them are already out.
Light the candles again, and then it's Flynn's turn to blow those candles out.
While Mel keeps Cooper happy. And is obviously doing a good job, judging by the look on Cooper's face.
The candle ceremony having come to an end, then it's cake cutting time - first with Flynn cutting (with assistance from Michelle).
Then Jake's turn to cut. And after that, we ate the cake. And since the boys are not big cake eaters (icing, on the other hand, is another matter!) it mostly goes to the adults. Who are all serious cake eaters.
Somehow, the boys decided they needed to be dressed as Indians, using the paper strips of the table decoration as headbands. Jake and Flynn are on the patio swing.
Jake giving the thumbs up!
