Sunday morning was bright and sunny - quite a change from Saturday. So Peter and I went on a quiet walk around Bendalong Point enjoying the warmth of the sun.
And just a little way down we came across mother and youngster kangaroos out for breakfast. Peter warned me that we might see the male, the much bigger male.
The mother (left) was certainly keeping an eye on us, as can be seen in this photo with her head turned to give her a better view, while baby enjoys the morning sunshine.
Ah, mum's having a bit of a scratch, as seen in close up.
Ah, that classic profile, now that the scratching has stopped.
Leaving the kangaroos we walked towards the point, then back home via Boat Harbour Beach, where the seagulls were enjoying the sunshine too, and one of them was playing in the surf.
And this dog is taking its owner for a walk.
And also playing in the water. And seeming to enjoy it too.
Peter and I then continued back towards home, and came across the assembled kangaroo family.
Mother and two youngster kangaroos, enjoying a spot of shade, it would appear.
The male of this group was just across the road, enjoying some warmth. He was quite large, so we kept our distance from him - I expect I would loose if he decided he didn't like us. Fortunately, perhaps, these kangaroos are often in this area, and so have quite a bit of human contact. But still...
As we continued walking up the hill, the mother decided to check us out, just in case we turn and attack.
And the male was still keeping an eye on us.
Having passed through the kangaroo "road block" in one piece we are approaching home, with Michelle and Cooper enjoying the warmth, and watching Flynn riding past on his trike.
We joined in the warmth accumulation to have some refreshments, and then the birds arrived!
After the refreshments, I packed up, checked out and had a liesurely drive back to Sydney, arriving early afternoon. It was a very enjoyable couple of days away, for a very special occasion.
