While the photographer was taking his photographs, the guests were enjoying hospitality in Anzac Park. Then it was time to walk the block or two to "On The Inlet" restaurant, where an informal reception was scheduled. While there were tables, mostly people stood around, chatting, nibbling, drinking or whatever else took their fancy. Then it's time for the speeches.
Peter, the father of the bride, had the joy of speaking first.
And probably longest.
The crowd, including Kelly and Glenn on the left, listening to Peter.

"Hurry up! Cut the bloody cake!"
Well, it is time to start cutting the cake, made by Cecelie Currey.
And carefully carried to Port Douglas by Yvonne.
A two handed cut. Despite what one might imagine, the
cake was delicious, moist and not at all hard.
And so the night continued, with drinking, dancing, nibbling and just plain hanging out. The reservation ceased about 10PM, and some of the younger folks continued the celebration elsewhere around Port Douglas. Somewhat to their regret the next morning.
The older folks walked back to our rooms and to sleep - eventually.
