The afternoon of September 5th was the appointed time for one of the many farewell affairs. Although some time before my departure, the schedule was one that allowed a full attendance. The location was Mary's home at the northern end of Lake Washington.
The lower half of this image is Mary's garden, constructed recently from an overgrown patch of land. The view is looking west over Lake Washington.
And another reason for this event was the "coming out" (at least to me) of Mary's new cat Jimmy.
Jimmy skirting around the "foot blockade".
Jimmy is "test sitting" Nancy's lap. Alas, Nancy is allergic to cats, and can only tolerate a few hours of close contact, despite her love for them.
Jimmy deciding something on the table needs closer investigation.
Ah, Ingo (or Toli) comes out to check on the lack of attention being paid to him.
Ah, adopting a camoflage position amongst the garden pots to spy on who is not paying him enough attention.
Just guarding the pot plant - from Jimmy!
What's this approaching - do I attack it? Is it safe?
"Quick, get it OVER with! NOW! And that's an order!"
A little after dinner conversation. A fine end to a delightful afternoon of conversation, drinking and eating.
Thanks to Mary, Nancy and Dori (and Marilyn, whom I was to see in a couple of days) for many pleasant afternoons and evenings over the years. I'll miss you all. And Ingo, Toli and Jimmy.
