On April 2nd, Peter Mason and I planned to meet at Circular Quay and catch the ferry to Manly for lunch, and general sightseeing and catching up. And so it came to pass.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge, with North Sydney (and the current incarnation of Luna Park) showing through underneath. And a catamaran ferry coming in too! One of the popular "adventure" tours in Sydney is to climb up the arch. In fact, there's a group on the bridge in this photo, although it's better seen in the above link. There may be two groups up there. The structure between the two flags is one of the devices used by the painters to allow them to hang down and paint all the beams.
Alas, there are no photos of the journey over, as the "slow" ferry was replaced by one of the catamaran's which do not allow people to sit outdoors, and we were too late to get a window seat!
Ah, the beach. And popular it was too, for early April. This is the ocean side beach, looking north.
Even the pidgeons have figures out wher to get a bath (on the blocked drain of the feet washing area).
Looking south.
