Ivar's Salmon House is located at the north end of Lake Union, and is decorated in Indian Long House style. I had lunch there, and took some photos of the event!
The interior - supposedly the largest collection of native canoes outside the Smithsonian Museum.
Looking towards Seattle and the Space Needle. The water to the left goes through the Montlake Cut into Lake Washington. The dock is part of the restaurant, and there are people who sail up for lunch! Note: the whitish triangle just above the water on the right hand side is a reflection of the outdoor umbrellas.
These World War II landing craft, commonly known as "ducks", are now on the tour circuit in Seattle. The tour involves some land transport then a tour of Lake Union, coming as far as Ivar's before turning around.
Ivar's customers come in all sorts of craft!
It's not especially obvious from the image, but this was a very well maintained wooden boat. It doesn't hurt that the Wooden Boat Centre is almost next door.
Another pleasure yacht on the lake.
Not obvious, but these sailors were rowing towards the dock - I presume they are novices!
