A mock front on that building. It looks quite impressive from the front, but side on, the illusion suffers from reality.
Quite an interesting building! Consecrated in 1877, it was designed by Henry Hobson Richardson (1838 - 1886) in the Richardson Romanesque style (named after the architect). He solved the problem of building on landfill (which this whole area is) by driving wooden piles into the ground.
The church is reflected in the glass of the Hancock tower.
