May Flowers

May 6th

While I was away for Mum's funeral, the weather warmed up quite a bit, and the garden started blooming. Herewith the evidence.

Back garden in bloom - Lilac and Viburnums

The south east corner of the house - lilac in bloom, and the viburnum nearer the house. How the latter have grown - the one in the corner is now above the window sill level! I have already trimmed them, as they were touching the house, and I don't like that, as it gives a way for insects to get into the wood of the house.

First Rhododendrum in bloom - just one cluster!

The first rhododendron to bloom. And these are the only blooms to appear on this plant!

Close up view of the rhododendrom blooms. They are very pretty flowers, and the plants are well suited to our climate.
