On January 4th, I drove up to Leura to visit the Hattons. Specifically, Enid, who is Judy Bennett's mum. We drove down to the Megalong Valley for lunch. The valley is located south west of Katoomba, with the access road starting from Blackheath, west of Katoomba.
This is the home of John (Judy's brother) and Margaret Hatton, located in Leura, not far from Enid's apartment.
Enid and I stopped for lunch at the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms. It appeared to have also been a petrol station at one stage, but the pumps were gone, and the canopy over where they would have been has been turned into a bird feeder.
One of the rosellas which was feeding while we had lunch.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?
A stately gum tree.
The turn around point - with a storm building up out to the west.
Many forms of wildlife catered for in these parts!
A very typical Australian bush scene.
