A Day In The Mountains

On January 4th, I drove up to Leura to visit the Hattons. Specifically, Enid, who is Judy Bennett's mum. We drove down to the Megalong Valley for lunch. The valley is located south west of Katoomba, with the access road starting from Blackheath, west of Katoomba.

Megalong Valley

Megalong is an aboriginal word meaning valley below the cliffs.

Enid and I stopped for lunch at the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms. It appeared to have also been a petrol station at one stage, but the pumps were gone, and the canopy over where they would have been has been turned into a bird feeder.

Further In

After an enjoyable lunch, we continued further into the valley. Upon crossing a creek, probably Cox's River the road turns to dirt, so this was the signal for us to head back towards home.
