I was out buying a new vacuum cleaner, and a few other odds and ends, and returned home to see patches of white stuff on the ground. Around the neighbourhood, that is. There was still some left when I reached home; this is the front of my house. Even with the sun shining, perhaps 30 minutes after the storm, there was still hail packed on the ground.
I also noticed there are marks on the roof - I suspect this is where the hail was hitting and removing some of the dirt. Even my front door mat appears to have had some hail land on it!
A close up of the hail on the side of the path. I forgot to put something in the picture for scale, but the pellets were up to about 8 mm diameter.
