The quick way to cut tall trees! The inner section of the East Hills railway line is being widened to 4 tracks from the existing 2. So the trees were being trimmed to allow for the new tracks - one each side of the existing pair.
A wide angle view out mum's back window.
Looking roughly south from the International Terminal at Mascot, showing Cooks River and the golf course and looking roughly towards Arncliffe.
Downtown Sydney from the International Terminal. The lighter area at the top of the image is the reflection from another window.
The perks of business class travel on Qantas. This is the control panel for the (electrically operated) seat. The white circles with arrows are controls for each part of the seat. And the spacing between rows is wonderful!
Each seat has its own video display, with a choice of programs, I think. I didn't use it, preferring to read.
One of the nice things Qantas has is an flight display, part of which is shown here, and the next two images. There is also a map, displaying the location of the aircraft on the route.
A close up of the contents! My but it's cold outside.
And some time information too.
With its 14,400 feet height, the top of Mt. Rainier is often above the clouds. As you can see here, and in the next photo, it does not stand out very well, which is why (light) planes have been known to fly into the side.
Note that I increased the contrast with this image - the mountain was not so clear to the naked eye.
