A general view from the lilac to the back fence. After a long, dreary winter, it is nice to see some colour in the yard again. Even the tree in the street is starting to show its leaves.
This is an Eleagnus plant near the dining room window. These plants put on a large number of new leaves this spring, and they start out being a gray-green colour, which then turns into the ultimate dark green leaves with a yellow border. Some of the leaves at the bottom are the final colour, the rest are new foliage.
I'm not sure why I decided this tree should appear drunk, but that's the way the image came out. This is the dogwood tree near the dining room window. Also the hydrangea bushes, which started flowering quite early in the season.
Another view of the rhododendron on the eastern end of the yard. This one had quite a few blooms this year, so I guess it likes the position it is in.
