The front lawn diggings to complete the sprinkler installation.
The back flow prevention valve is just visible, if you know where to look. It was installed last year, and requires an annual inspection. These images have some reflections from the window. The red cones in the street are where the builder replaced part of the gutter because it was cracked during construction.
The next image is of the back yard, and in particular the building, with my neighbour Phan, of our fence. This photo shows the fence posts in the ground. The technique is to dig a hole about 18 inches (0.5 m) deep, insert the post and fill the hole with cement. This keeps the post solidly in the ground.
Details of the manifolds used to control the sprinklers and drip irrigation in the front lawns and gardens. This photo is looking north. The green lids indicate where the valves are located, two per assembly. The valves are electrically operated by a controller in the garage.
The fence structure is now much more visible. The fence along the back is 6 feet (almost two metres) high, whereas our fence is only four feet. Phan mostly wanted it to provide a safe enclosure for his young children, so the lower height will do that, without dominating the yard.
And I have a nice view from my bedroom window too!
The fence completed. Note also that I have a nice collection of weeds growing in the lower left of the image. These are some form of clover! Note also that the fence posts need to be cut off, and some sort of decoration added to the top.
Finally, a view looking to the north east, showing the new path, and the trees which Denny and I planted to form the fence between our properties.
