London Tour
Sunday, May 4
I started by looking through the Phone Book for tourist information. It's
amazing what you can find there. I also read the "London Tourist" book
I bought earlier in the trip. This listed all the major attractions in
central London, together with a map of the tube and local railway lines.
Also used the time to plan the week ahead. In particular, I needed to visit
the US Embassy, which was likely closed on Monday (Bank Holiday), so that
meant going on Tuesday.
After lunch, Dave Snipp, my host, took me to see the company he half
owns, which makes stage lighting, and the software to let people design
the layout. This is in Eastern London, in a not so wonderful area. After
this, Dave took me around central London, including locating the US Embassy.
On the way home we came via Brixton, which is akin to Redfern. Definitely
seen better days. We stopped at the local for a couple of drinks before
heading home for a little TV watching.
