Some time in July I must have taken a day trip to Woy Woy. The reason being these photos are of Woy Woy, and the film was processed in July.
Woy Woy is an area north of Sydney, just north of the Hawkesbury River. Although quite close to Sydney, it is not a part of the city. Indeed, years ago, mum and dad used to spend their holidays there, at least in part (I suspect) because of access by train. It is no longer a holiday area, but has become (to some extent) a dormitory suburb for Sydney.
Behold greater Woy Woy. Spike Milligan, whose mother lived there, described the citizens as having a major invention - an above ground cemetery. In other words, it's rather dead. And it probably was in those times, but now it is something of a dormitory suburb of Sydney, due to the train service (which has existed for many years). Woy Woy proper is the developed area in the left middle. Directly above Woy Woy (in the picture) is St. Huberts Island. Far off on the horizon is the Tasman Sea.
My Datsun parked among the gum trees at Woy Woy Falls. I must confess that I have not been back since then, nor do I remember how I even found out about them to go there!
Woy Woy Falls. Seems like quite a pleasant place, though I confess having no real recollection of the area after these many years.
