Jazz School For Youngsters

Sunday was the final day of the Festival, and a fairly quiet day at that. After morning Mass and breakfast, I headed down to the St. Lawrence River. Being a clear and hot day, it seemed that taking as much of the journey under cover would be a good thing. And Montreal has exactly what's needed for that - the Underground City. It connects within a block of our hotel, and goes to within about 2 blocks of Notre Dame Cathedral!

La Petite ecole du Jazz

I translate that as the "little Jazz school", but it is perhaps more appropriately translated as "Jazz school for youngsters". Either way, it was a very enjoyable, and lively program, obviously aimed at the young members of the audience, and introducing them to the basic elements of Jazz. And, of course, featuring St. Cat!

Quite a crowd in the Complexe Desjardins, across rue Sainte Catherine from the Place des Arts. This area is also home to the Hyatt Hotel, headquarters for the Festival. And is part of the Underground City.

More of the crowd enjoying the show. From memory it was in French, so I didn't understand much of it.

Ah, the examination! Poor St. Cat was in trouble.
